Sean McAllister

Sean is a film and television composer who enjoys his time teaching at the Academy. After receiving his Masters Degree in Music he also spent a lot of time performing in the world of musical theatre so, if you're looking for lessons in anything from voice to to songwriting, book your lessons today!

Ryan Jarvis

Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Ukulele

Ryan Jarvis is an accomplished musician having studied piano through he Royal Conservatory. After that, he was a founding member of the successful Canadian punk band, Youthinasia and did many North American tours over a decade with them. Book your lessons with Ryan today to get your rock on!

Jake McGuin

Bass, Guitar, Piano, Ukulele

Jake has spent years performing in bands and chose to study music at the college level, specializing in Jazz Bass. Today he is a sought after session player as well as being a great teacher at the Academy. Jake has the right mix of energy and enthusiasm to make all his lessons fun and fulfilling.

Dan Taylor

Piano, Guitar, Drums, Woodwinds, Brass and more

Dan Taylor has been teaching music for 30 years. Dan is a multi instrumentalist who can teach piano, guitar, drums, woodwinds, strings and brass to students of all ages and abilities. He is originally from Hamilton, Ontario, where he studied piano performance at McMaster University with teachers Ken Gee and Alla Zachiarelli. Dan also has a degree in audio engineering from Recording Arts Canada. Dan encourages live performance for all his students, including participating in festivals, community and private events. Dan currently performs publicly in the rock group 'Sivle'.

About Us

The Academy of Music and Performance is one of Brantford's best music studios.  We have teachers with real world experience in the music industry from touring bands to film scoring to session players who are ready to teach what they have learned to students of all ages and experience levels.

With a focus on how fun and exciting learning an instrument can be, our students are engaged and eager to learn all they can and progress to where they are starting bands of their own! We also offer a jam space where students can, when they're ready, meet others and start to play what they have learned and branch out in new musical directions.

We also offer practice rooms that are available for bands to rent out when it gets a little too loud at home! Also, in the new year, we will be finished our new recording studio so that musicians can record and release those tracks that they haven't put out to the world yet.
